General SODAQ Introduction

SODAQ started in 2013 developing and deploying weather stations across Africa. The necessity to transmit sensor data from remote locations produced one of the first global Internet of Things (IoT) development boards. From the start, SODAQ has focused on low-power, sustainable technology, and has experienced significant growth due to its high degree of innovation. SODAQ’s products and service offerings have diversified into solutions for a wide range of applications for a variety of industries. The use of our IoT solutions makes it possible for companies to automate data collection in a sustainable and reliable way.

SODAQ has been transforming from a project (engineering) business to a full production-oriented company. We develop and sell IoT tracking products which we produce together with several production partners on an increasingly larger scale.

Job Profile: Product Sales Manager 

As Product Sales Manager you are responsible for partnerships and channel strategy. You proactively approach big companies and tackle their logistic challenges cooperatively. You contribute to SODAQ’s ambition of becoming the go-to b2b asset tracker manufacturer for large corporations around the world. 

You actively work together with the CEO and CCO in presenting SODAQ’s activities and summarizing possible solutions. You know how to convert opportunities into concrete well-written plans, and how to use the necessary contracts and assets to close deals. You use your sales skills to align on a use/business case and budget, and are prepared to make a decision. You actively work alongside the marketing team to map out the sales proposition and the target group. After successfully operating in this position, it will become your responsibility to grow the sales department. 

To work efficiently you will need to develop a deep understanding of both our products and our client’s use cases to assess their needs. You are capable of having complex conversations with clients to bring them the best solutions. You are enthusiastic, driven, collaborative, able to adapt,  and capable of meeting deadlines. You work well in a team and actively involve your co-workers and managers in opportunities that occur. You can speak Dutch and English fluently, as your commercial activities will be focused on Europe and the US.

Position requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales of hardware and software
  • Experience in approaching leads and potential clients 
  • Capable of working with a multiple-step sales process 
  • Professionally handling contact with clients and contacts in our target groups (big companies), in the Netherlands as well as internationally
  • Good to outstanding presentation – and advisory skills
  • Fluent in English and Dutch 
  • Located in the Netherlands
  • A passion for technology
