Using an IoT network of sensors, the SODAQ WORK tracks and monitors workspaces, office availability, and allows users to reserve rooms and desks when and where they need them. This will change the way the world does business, and allow organizations to maximize space, and minimize time loss.
How the SODAQ WORK was created
The SODAQ WORK was created to solve a new, yet growing issue. As workforces diversify and become more flexible—offices are able to streamline by having less workspace per employee. This creates an issue of added complexity in facilities management, as large companies try to minimize time loss by employees searching for a meeting or workspace. The SODAQ WORK was designed to tackle this problem. The SODAQ WORK utilizes a cutting-edge combination of iotspot hardware and online software, along with a range of cellular devices and sensors to continuously monitor spaces—and reserve them.
What does the SODAQ WORK do?
Harnessing the power of data to optimize workspace utilization. The SODAQ WORK utilizes a cutting-edge combination of iotspot hardware and online software, along with a range of cellular devices and sensors to continuously monitor spaces—and reserve them. A combination of a reservation system and hardware to measure the actual usage of the desks or meeting rooms allows office buildings to host more workers per square meter. Large corporations, governments, universities, and co-working spaces instantly reap the benefits of the SODAQ WORK.
How does it work?
The core of this solution is an LTE-M based device with 2G fallback that is placed on a workspace, such as a desk or meeting room table. Using grid power, it’s a perfect gateway for low-power Bluetooth peripheral sensors. When a user reserves a desk in the iotspot app or via smartphone NFC, the device indicates that the spot is reserved using a visible LED-ring.
Power Distribution Unit
IoT Hub has been integrated into the Bachmann Power Distribution Unit. Not only does this make the workspace smarter, but it extends the power supply and provides USB charging
