HILVERSUM, JULY 14, 2022 –SODAQ is welcoming a new Bluetooth-compatible solution to its portfolio of asset tracking devices, the SODAQ TRACK BLE. This solution is an addition to the existing TRACK line, including the TRACK Active and Solar, used to individually track valuable assets through global supply chains.
The TRACK BLE offers an additional tracking solution for assets that are smaller and/or lower-value and circulate through closed-loop supply chains. This asset tracking solution is responding to the high demand for efficient tracking, using fewer trackers and a lower price point compared to existing closed supply-chain devices.
How it works
By integrating a Bluetooth gateway into the TRACK BLE, the device can pick up information relayed by the coin-sized BLE beacons (ID, temperature, volume, condition, and/or location) in its proximity, and transmit them to SODAQ’s Silica dashboard along with its location. By assigning the BLE beacon to specific assets, and mounting TRACK BLE to fixed locations throughout warehouses or other properties, it becomes possible to track clusters of assets with singular devices. Doing so significantly reduces the cost and environmental impact of monitoring all assets with individual trackers.
Designed for efficiency
The TRACK BLE is designed for companies that want to reduce costs, loss, and negative environmental impact within their closed supply chains, while increasing transparency. Justifying the use of asset tracking devices that exceed the value of the assets they are set out to track, can be problematic. As such, the BLE provides an alternative to using individual trackers for all assets, which opens closed supply chain monitoring to companies in all industries.
The complexity of BLE beacons can vary, however, they are capable of relaying information on the temperature, volume, and condition of assets in set intervals. Because BLE beacons are “simple” transmitters, they require a fraction of the materials to manufacture, time to onboard, and cost to buy, providing an easier and more world-friendly alternative.
For example, tracking kegs as they move through the different facilities in their warehouses (quality inspection, sterilization, refilling, distribution to the customers where they will be used, and ultimately back to the facility).
Production and availability
The TRACK SOLAR BLE is set to launch in August 2022. As a B2B asset tracking solution, the TRACK BLE will be sold in large quantities. If you are interested in running a pilot with the TRACK SOLAR BLE & SODAQ Beacons, please pre-order a trial kit through our partner undagrid.
For more information
We are currently working together with one of the world’s largest shipping companies, airports, and keg manufacturers, to implement the TRACK BLE into their closed supply chains. More detailed reference cases on each of these projects will be made public in the near future.
